At Lou's Autobody we use a lot of different technology. Here's a description of what a visit to Lou's involves.



The estimation process begins indoors where light and temperatures can be controlled to make the appraisal more accurate. A hoist is available to allow inspection of suspension or underbody damage. When details of the damage have been recorded, a computerized analysis is generated using either the Mitchell or ADP Automated Estimation System. Being linked with several insurance company's Direct Repair Programs, means that we can send photos, along with an estimate, directly to the insurance adjuster via modem for immediate approval.

After being given a preliminary wash, vehicles enter the repair process in the body shop section where there are five in-floor frame machines and three Chief E-Z Liner frame machines. These built in frame rails in each body stall, are used by the bodymen for fixing minor frame damage, and helping pull out large damage by provide anchor points.

Dust and pollutants are controlled by a central vacuum for sanding operations and a venting system to remove harmful welding fumes.
Next Stop is the paint shop, where your vehicle is masked and primed for preparation for the final painting process. Here again each of the 8 prep bays is equipped with a central vacuum system for power sanders as well as an entire wall of dust extraction filters.

To ensure the best possible colour match we only use top-of-the-line Glasurit refinishing products and their computerized colour RATIO System. This allows for exact colour matching with the colour that was used in the factory. Check out Glasurit's international web site which talks about their products.
One of two De Vilbiss down draft paint booths will be used for the final painting operation. One booth is equipped with a bake cycle and the other uses infrared to assist in drying and curing of the paint.

When a vehicle requires mechanical repairs, we can do everything "in-house". Our computerized wheel alignment rack and engine analyzer give quick and efficient diagnoses'. We also have tire changing and balancing equipment, a brake servicing machine and an air-conditioning set up. The only repairs we sublet are upholstery repairs and windshield installations which are done on-site by mobile technicians. When all repairs are completed, the vehicle is returned to the Detailing Bay where it is thoroughly cleaned inside and out.
